Who is behind Xena’s Angels

‘Xena’ is the nickname of the Founder of Xena’s Angels, Róisín ‘Xena’ Pitman – BA (Hons) Crim Psych (Open).

‘Xena’ is a retired States of Jersey police officer and, for the last decade, an active security operative in the island, who works as a door security supervisor at licensed premises and licensed event arenas as well as being a regular security face on the party boat, Jersey Duchess. She also undertakes private investigation and surveillance work for a local security company with police and military provenance, and is the co-author and presenter of Door Security Supervisor (Jersey) Level 2, a qualification required prior to obtaining a Justice and Home Affairs Door Security Supervisor licence, to work in that industry.

Róisín ‘Xena’ Pitman

BA (Hons) Criminology & Psychology (The Open University) – graduated in July 2025.

Police Constable (30) in the States of Jersey Police Force (October 1982 – July 1993) – Medically retired due to an hereditary connective tissue disorder (Hereditary Progressive Arthro-Ophthalmopathy aka Stickler’s Syndrome) that left her partially sighted and arthritic.

Qualified to the Rank of Sergeant by Examinations (1987).

Founder/ Headmistress of Aikido Mukyokan Jersey (1987).

Martial arts student for 46+ years (since 1980) holding the grades of 6th Dan in Aikido; 4th Dan in Mushin-Do.

National and Internationally recognised martial arts teacher who has regularly taught locally, nationally and in Eire, France, Italy, Turkey, Malaysia, West Indies and the United States of America.

Specialises in personal protection and awareness for women and girls.

Police and Security Instructor (UK Home Office Approved through the SIA/Highfield).

Door Security Supervisor Instructor (Jersey Justice & Home Affairs registered).

UK Level 3 qualifications as a Security Instructor, and in Education and Training, Conflict Management, Physical Intervention in the Security Industry, Control and Restraint, Handcuffing and other Mechanical Restraints, and Self Defence.
